Abe's update

Hi family, friends, faithful viewers,
It's been quiet a while since any new updates on pastor Abe.
I must say he is improving everyday especially his speech. His mind is clearing rapidly, he remember some things from his long term memory ..like  all  four children and his wife, his brothers and sisters, phone number, he knows to spell, he can hold a good conversation,he also can remember visitors by name, his company's business etc: Today Abe sign his signature for the first time .
. Once a week we the family  accompany Abe to Belize city to get therapy  by a professional therapist and also training so that we  can assist him everyday with the basic skills that he needs to achieve before learning to walk....He is not walking as yet, because the therapist said it's important for Abe to learn to walk properly..he is creeping.
we are so happy for the effort Abe shows participating when getting his therapy. His urine catheter is still inserted...we are praying and believing for his badder to start functioning ...His journey in recovering takes  a lot  patience and work but worth all the sacrifice! for we cannot do these things alone but only with the help and strength from our heavenly father who carry us through everyday.

Goodafternoon family and friends,
Clarence and Gladys and myself are in Guatemala for a checkup with
Abe.We
were expecting to take Abe home without the catheter inserted. The
urologist
took it out on Monday but after four and half hours of waiting for the
bladder
to function on its own, with no results, he put it in again. We will have
to
wait awhile again and try again sometime in the weeks or month to come.
The
urologist says the brain and bladder are not functoning together enough as
yet.
Pray with us that this important function of Abe's body will respond.
We saw Abe's main doctor, Dr.Mattheu today. He is well pleased with the
progress Abe has made. He adjusted Abe's medication and we are happy to go
home
with less medications than we came with.An exray on his back was done and
it
looks really good.
Abe is making progress every day.He is stronger, even his right side of
the
body is gaining strength. Today he used his right side hand to fork all his
meals into his mouth. This morning I asked him if he needed the bathroom and
he
said yes. I was sitting in bed deciding if I had to wake up Clarence to
help him
to the bathroom and as I wait a bit Abe pulled himself up by holding unto
my
arm. So I figured him and I will manage by ourselves. And we did.Clarence
helped
him get into the shower for his bath and Abe basically bathed himself, too.
So
the family at home will be surprised at the progress that has taken place
in
just 3 days. He speaks alot and understands everything that is said and
done
around him. He responds to the conversation with sense-making answers.Today
we
asked him if his back was hurting him and for the first time he said it
did.Another first today was when I gave him a book and a pen and he started
scribbling. Clarence challenged him to make a circle and he did that
too.Here in
Guatemala the people speak spanish and when we are talking to spanish
speaking
people he starts talking in spanish too.
Praise the Lord for His healing power at work in Abe. Pray for the
family for
patience and endurance during this time as it requires a lot of hard work.
Betty Thiessen

Abe's update

God is good!
Today i had the privilege to be Abe's care giver, and i enjoyed being in his company. I can see progress. I was giving him speech therapy, and he was amazing, repeating every picture word that i was showing him from a book, that's a huge milestone for him and us".There is a saying it takes a community to raise a child".well i say it takes a community to bring back Abe.It's a lot of  effort, time,  and a lot of patience with the help of Almighty God.
Today Otto,Milton, and Hertha took Abe to Belize City for a general checkup he still has an infection.
Abe can sustain his body weight pretty good while standing. He just need to put it in balance and learn to walk. The family had some bar rails built for him to start putting his walking into practice,so far he's been taking his own steps with the walker and  with the help of others. My friends keep believing and praying with super natural faith for complete restoration and healing for Abe and his family. With God everything is possible.

Abe

Hi family,friends,viewers,
It's a very beautiful,windy day,
We are very thankful to God for every milestone Abe has accomplish so far.
Abe is progressing everyday gaining more resistance in both his feet and arms. He can also identify some visitors by name. Yesterday Hertha and some family members took Abe to Loma Luz hospital to have his stomach tube remove, but the doctor said he wasn't familiar with that kind of tube that they inserted in his stomach in Guatemala, so he didn't dare remove it.
Today Hertha and some family members are taking Abe to the hospital to see a doctor,Abe has a bladder infection cause by the catheter he has inserted in him to help him urinate.Hopefully the right antibiotics will be given to him to help him with his infection.
Please continue to pray for strength and healing for Abe and his family. Thank you everyone for your continuous support. We appreciate it!

Sunday with Abe

Hi everyone,
Today was a beautiful day.
Otto and Milton, gave Abe his walking therapy, holding him on each side.
Abe still has his feeding tube connected , but it's being use for applying his medication.
He is affectionate towards his family.A private nurse has been hired to help with therapy.
This afternoon Otto and Milton took him for a drive at Abe's mom house, he was very alert when he saw his company trucks there.
they also took him to his church where he saw his daughters decorating for a christmas program; he was so exited that he was trying to play his guitar with his left hand.
Abe also held the microphone and murmured for a while.some family and friends were there at his residence visiting and offering their support.

Abe

Hi family, friends, viewers,
Today is two weeks since my family and I left Belize to be here in Guatemala with Abe and Hertha. We have seen many improvements with Abe through out our time being here. God is Good!
Yesterday a nurse told Otto that she ask Abe como est as Abe bien? And Abe replied soy bien,! This morning Otto visited him and told him in a loud voice Good morning Abe,and he replied back Good morning.
At 200pm I visited Abe, Hertha was trying to feed him. He didn't seem hungry.  The nurses came in to do his lung and back therapy. He seem uneasy when they had his back in strenous position. So I ask him Abe is it uncomfortable for you? Is your head hurting? He replied calmly. ,Yes. It seems when he makes an effort to speak the words don't come out, only when he is calm then the words come out.
Abe can drink his tea, oats, apple juice with a cup by himself using his left hand only.
